FunBrush was a startup that was trying to create a device named “FunBrush”. It was an attachment to the toothbrush that allowed it to detect its movements. Its ultimate goal was to make brushing teeth fun for the kids.
I was leading a team of three – including myself – Unity Developers and we were working on creating the app for mobile devices that would be used with the device.
The device had a built-in accelerometer that send its input data to the tablet. From there, the kids were able to brush their teeth together with animals such as a Lion or a Hippo.
For the initial release, there were four characters planned + a plane-flying minigame in which you were controlling the plane position via toothbrush position.
Ultimately – like most startups do – this one has not survived and was shutdown before the project was finished.
